Sweet dinner roll
7 tbsp water
7 tbsp milk
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 egg (and extra for egg wash)
1/3 cup butter, room temperature, soften (2 2/3 oz by weight)
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 (0.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
Steps
1. Combine water, milk and heavy cream and warm it. (microwave 50 seconds)
2. Place water, milk, egg, 1/3 cup butter, sugar, salt, flour and yeast in the pan of the bread machine (here) in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough/Knead and First Rise Cycle; press Start. It takes about 45 minutes.
3. When cycle finishes, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.

4. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 12 inch circle. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll wedges starting at wide end; roll gently but tightly. Place point side down on ungreased parchment paper 5. Cover with clean kitchen towel and put in a warm place (make sure the wet kitchen towel not touching the bread dough! I left them in the oven with the light on and put a layer of wet kitchen towel on the rack above the dough / pan). Let it rise for one hour or until the size doubles. 6. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375F. |
