Honey baby rack ribs (a great beginner recipe)

Here is a  great beginner recipe for honey baby rack ribs. This dish received numerous compliments from my family members, friends and co-workers! The total preparation time is about 4-5 hours. This recipe is originated from a Chinese lady, Cuihua, and I slightly changed hers to improve the flavor. I hope you like it!

Ingredients:

2 lb baby back ribs
5 tsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp paprika powder
2/3 tsp salt
2/3 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground coriander
5 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 1/2 tbsp cooking wine
2/3 tbsp vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp water
1 tbsp fresh minced garlic

Step 1. Mix brown sugar, paprika, salt, garlic powder and ground coriander in a small bowl.

Step 2. Cut the whole ribs into two slabs. Massage the mixed spices on the both side of the rib, and carefully wrap the rib with foil to be relatively gas tight! Leave them in refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.

Step 3. Mix light soy sauce (I like Lee Kum Kee premium soy sauce), honey, cooking wine, vinegar, water and minced garlic in another bowl. Preheat the oven to 375F. Pour pre-mixed sauce in the package, which has been in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours. Again, you need to carefully wrap the ribs to prevent liquid sauce leaking out.

Step 4. Bake the ribs for 1 hour 30 minutes.
