DVF fox fur vest & flare leg jeans

Hi all, after 10-day wait, I received both my fox fur vests (DVF and Vince). Both of them are super soft and well made. I decided to keep both. They not only have different styles and functions (I will introduce both of them in this and the next post), but also are worth the investment. Do you notice how much the price goes up this year?
Compared to Vince fox (hair only) fur vest, DVF vest is more chunky. You may not be able to layer this vest underneath any coat; actually I tried at home, and I did look like wearing football protective gears underneath, lol. Well, this vest can seriously keep you warm. I wore this outfit in an upper 40F winter day, and did not feel cold. Quality wise, I have no complaint so far. I did not notice any significant (fox) hair falling throughout the day, which happened to my lamb fur vest at the very beginning.
You have different choices to wear this vest: with skinny jeans and boots (as Michelle paired here), or with pencil / flare leg jeans and heels. For my height (5'4), I prefer the later pairing. What is your preference in wearing a fur vest? I added a skinny belt to create a peplum top look, which may also help to elongate the legs. Instead of flare leg jeans, a mini skirt or shirt dress will also be good choices for this vest. I can't wait to experiment different pairings... Do you have any other suggestions?

    1. The only size available is small. It fits well, though I think xs mighter be better. The price on www.vince.com is not bad, but it might be the final sale.

    1. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Once a while I spoil myself a little bit, like my birthday or big sale seasons. My budget is just slightly higher than yours. I like buying deals and 'recycling' my closet. In a previous post (http://www.fabbylife.com/2012/12/burberry-glossy-puffer-coat-turquoise.html) I mentioned my closet strategy.

I don't mind spending a little bit more on coats, bags, scarves and shoes, which last for many years. Couple of my Burberry coats were bought in 2005, and I still like them and wear them. The Prada booties I wore in this post were bought in 2007...

Personally I like Burberry coats (trench coats, down coats...), which you always can find deals now. My girl friend just bought one high gloss Burberry down coat from Neiman Marcus with $350. Though it is not cheap, it will last years.

Shoes, I like Salvatore Ferragamo. Once a while, there are deals for classic SF shoes in Bloomingdales. SF shoes (flats and vera pumps with 1 3/4'' heels) also last many years if you take good care of them.

The first bag is a very personal choice, depending on your preference. I don't mind logos, so LV bags work for me. If you want to invest more, Chanel CF or 255 is good. If you want a low-key and trendy one, you can try Balenciaga, Chloe or YSL. If your badget is not that high for a premium designer bag, you may want to check Rebecca Minkoff, Longchamp or Marc Jacobs (there are very deep sales of MJ bags).

It might be sold out in saks, and you may want to try Bloomie and get price match.

  8. Like it. How about mix-matching the vest with a pair of graphic leggings?

    1. Might need mile-long legs to handle graphic leggings... I think this works for Michelle...
